Undocumented Ground: L.A. Photographic Visionaries August 6, 2004

The ambitious and extensive collection of Los Angeles? finest urban underground photographers will feature approximately 95 photographs by 24 artists whose inspiration comes from the depths of the subliminal cultural statement the city of Los Angeles exudes. The artists capture this essence through the eye of the camera lens.

The artists featured are: Andres Pacheco, Aya Muto, B+ aka Brian Cross, Ben Higa, Diana McClure, Eriberto Oriol, Eric Coleman, Estevan Oriol, Eyeone, Galo ?MAKE? Canote, Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca, Hamztz, James Prigoff, Kevin Ramos, Luna One, Marco Romano, Maria Abigail Sandoval, Maria Madrigal, Marisa Estrada aka Ritzy Periwinkle, MonaLisa Whitaker, Patrick ?Pato? Herbert, Paul Redmond, Veero Derkarabetian, and Yadira Sandoval. Long time leading L.A. graffiti artist Chaz Bojoroquez designed the exhibit logo and promotional flyer.

Undocumented Ground is a unique expression of Los Angeles behind the scenes capturing the true, diverse nature of the city and its people. The purpose of the exhibit stands to reveal all that is typically unknown - the ?alternative? aspect of L.A. while offering a glimpse into the real world of these L.A. based artists. Undocumented Ground confronts and counters the stereotypical images of L.A. as ?Hollywood glitz and glamour.?
