Kenosha, Wis- Join the Carthage College Theatre Department while they present the Chekhov masterpiece “Uncle Vanya” on April 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m., and April 22 at 3 p.m. The performance will be held at the Wartburg Auditorium located on the Carthage College campus; 2001 Alford Park Drive, in Kenosha.
Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya” is set against the background of pre-Revolutionary Russia at the turn of the century. The story surrounds a small gathering of family and friends in the country. The Professor has inherited a gorgeous estate from his late wife and has recently moved to the property with his new, young wife Yelena and his grown daughter Sonya. Vanya is the brother of the Professor and has, for the past twenty-five years, been the manager of the estate while the Professor was away. This simple story of family ties becomes increasingly more complicated as a web of secret passions and loves arise. “Uncle Vanya” is the bittersweet tale of love, loss, and life.
Tickets for this performance are $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.
