University Of Maryland, Ste. 3800
College Park, Maryland 20742

The University of Maryland Summer Chorus presents Joseph Haydn's 'Harmoniemesse.' Haydn's 'Harmoniemesse' or "Wind Band Mass," so named due to its large wind section, was his final mass composed for the Esterhazy family. The composition is in many ways a continuation of the vocabulary employed in his London Symphonies, and is Haydn's last large-scale work. Joining the UMD Summer Chorus and student orchestra is an extraordinary cast of soloists: Ashley Briggs, soprano, Amanda Fink, alto, Joshua Baumgardner, tenor and Doug Yocum, bass. This concert, under the direction of Scot Hanna-Weir, will be presented in the world-class Dekelboum Concert Hall of the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the College Park campus.
