Massenet's celebrated romantic tragedy, based on Goethe's best-selling 'The Sorrows of Young Werther,' has captivated audiences since its debut in 1892. Chronicling the sensitive poet who falls passionately in love with his best friend's betrothed, 'Werther' tells a story of love at first sight, love letters and love denied. The performance is in French with English supertitles, accompanied by piano.
