Annual concert hosted by the Łowiczanie Polish Folk Ensemble, featuring traditionally ethnic Christmas carols from Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland and Ukraine. (Click on the Event URL below for details and contact info.)

The Ukrainian Vocal Ensemble “Kolyada” was founded in 2004. The repertoire is very wide from classical choral music to folk songs and Christmas carols. The ensemble has performed in Santa Clara, Sacramento, San Francisco, and other cities, as well as at Slavic Festivals in Berkeley and Saratoga. The members of the ensemble are talented amateurs, and they are happy to popularize Ukrainian culture by sharing their love of Ukrainian songs and traditions.

Trivia - FYI - The tune for the popular American Christmas carol know as "Carol of the Bells" was created by the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych and was called "Shchedryk" (1904). The English lyrics (entirely unrelated to the original) were created later by Ukrainian/Rusyn-American Peter J. Wilhousky in the 1930s.
