RICHARD HOLMES is the author of a series of ground-breaking biographies on Shelley and Coleridge. His many other books include Footsteps: Explorations of a Romantic Biographer and, most recently, The Age of Wonder. From 2000-2006 he was the founding Professor of Biographical Studies at UEA. He is a winner of the Somerset Maugham Award, the Whitbread Book of the Year Award and the Samuel Johnson Award, among several others. KATHRYN HUGHES’ first book was The Victorian Governess. She followed it up with George Eliot: The Last Victorian, which won the James Tait Black Prize, and The Short Life and Long Times of Mrs Beeton. She writes for The Guardian, the Times Literary Supplement and the Mail on Sunday and appears regularly on Front Row, Saturday Review and Woman’s Hour (BBC Radio 4) and Nightwaves (BBC Radio 3). She is Professor of Lifewriting at the University of East Anglia. GEOFF DYER is the author of three novels: Paris Trance, The Search and The Colour of Memory and several works of non-fiction including Out of Sheer Rage, Yoga For People Who Can’t Be Bothered To Do It and The Ongoing Moment, winner of the ICP Infinity Award for Writing on Photography. In 2005 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and in 2006 he received the E M Forster Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His new novel, Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi is published in April 2009.
