U-Med Free Electronics Recycling Event April 23, 2011

The recycling event on Saturday, April 23 was a big success thanks to Total Reclaim. Total Reclaim crew and UAA Recycling crew worked from about 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. collecting 29,114 pounds of electronics, batteries and other materials. That's almost 15 TONS! Total Reclaim did this event at no cost to the community. Just the cost of the recycling alone would have been $10,190, and that does not include the cost of labor to Total Reclaim for having their crew work that day.
Please join me in a big thank you to Total Reclaim for offering the opportunity to recycle electronics for free to the UAA community, ASD employees, students and family and Providence employees. This company provides a valuable service to Anchorage by ensuring that our electronics are responsibly disposed of.
