Quick, what’s the fifth most visited website in the world? Wikipedia, which turns ten years old this January and is known for its mission to spread knowledge around the world.

Form a five-person team or join a team to compete in the U-M Wikipedians first Trivia Night (or just show up to cheer on your friends). This event is free and open to the public; join us in the Hatcher Library Gallery.

To register, which is requested but not required, go to http://www.umich.edu/~umwiki/. Amazon.com gift cards and other prizes will be awarded to the top teams, and light refreshments will be provided.

The Wikipedians at the University of Michigan is a student organization that is dedicated to raising awareness about the behind-the-scenes work being done to keep Wikipedia running smoothly. Members learn to edit, add to, and create Wikipedia pages at biweekly meetings. During this process, they change from being an average user to a member of the community of contributors.
