twocities in tune: Chinese Singers Concert Series October 27, 2006

New York pianist and composer Steve Sweeting accompanies Chinese vocalist Yue Yan in jazz, show tunes, Chinese pop, folk and original music in the first of this concert series. Weaving cultures and harmonies, the duo takes old songs and recreates them with new voices. Trained by Steve to explore the style and heritage of jazz, singers in "twocities in tune" will also speak about their music to the audience. The premiere performance is on Friday, October 27th, at 7:30 pm.
