By the late 1960s Godard had hit his stride. Deux ou Trois Choses que je sais d'elle may well be the most perfectly realized work of his early career, blending many dominant ideas and conceits. In addition to Paris itself, the film expands on the allure of consumerism, the witty interaction of images and sounds, and the seditious sociology Godard often enjoys putting forward. Juliette (Marina Vlady), a housewife living in dreary surroundings, turns to part-time prostitution in order to buy herself a bit of happiness. A lengthy monologue expounds Godard's own mind-set at the time (1966, 90 minutes).
