MINNEAPOLIS (December 23, 2008)-Twin Cities Rockabilly (TCR) presents the first show of 2009 on Friday, January 9th, 2009 at Club Underground in Northeast Minneapolis. Spring Heeled Jacks begin the evening with their raucous and rambunctious sound, fronted by the alluring and hypnotic Matt Walsh (The Falls). Bitch N’ Brown featuring the Bootstraps of Doom are next, bringing to the stage a sweet blend of punk and country music, combined with a little white trash whiskey-drinkin’ charm. The highlight of the evening is the return from Kansas City, Missouri of Them Damned Young Livers (TDYL). TDYL performed at the 2008 Minneapolis Messaround to wild acclaim and adoration. From twisted preaching and religious healings (during “Please Help Me, Jesus!” a cowpunk song about avoiding another DWI.), to murder, drinking, and everything in between, TDYL are a performance not to be missed. If the coming year brings you to only one show, this should be the one.
