San Francisco Treasure Hunt and Benefit Concert to Build Awareness of Renewable Energy Options in San Francisco

The event takes place in conjunction with the 11th National Renewable Energy Marketing Conference that takes place in San Francisco from December 3rd through 6th.

Hunt clues can also be accessed at www.volumeonrenewableenergy.com. The clues listed on the next page will prompt treasure hunters to go to several locations in San Francisco that highlight renewable sources of energy to get answers to the series of clues. The winner of the treasure hunt will be announced at a benefit concert where Kelley Stoltz, the Court & Spark, and a special guest will perform.

HUNT CLUES AND DIRECTIONS:

Directions
Follow the clues to a locale with a renewable energy connection. While you are enjoying some of San Francisco’s hottest spots, find the Treasure Hunt answers. All answers take the form of a number and the numbers in order are your key! Hooray and get on your way to winning the grand prize!

Clue #1
Life as a record label can be frustrating, but it could be worse, you could be a protozoan. Sure, you get the glamour, and the fame, but what about sustainability? Well, one major record label is powered by 100% renewable energy, and you can be too. Heck we all can!

So, stick out your foot or foot-like projection and get moving to your first mission! Find this eco-friendly record label in the stacks of the music store that moves like you do. Browse through the compilation albums of this renewable energy-powered record label to find your first answer! That wasn't too hard, was it?

Clue #2
Off to the Seussiest place in town--tubes and barnacles galore! Sit back as the tides sing to you. To find the answer to this riddle, all you have to do is sit back and relax, no more seeing red as you soak it all up and gaze out at the water.

Clue #3
Through a huge laughing mouth you'll find treasures for pocket change. Find the windmill and make it turn, then find the greenest house. How many geese are eating at the trough by the windmill? How many babies lie asleep in the green house? Add the number of geese to the number of babies asleep in the green house. Too many digits? You silly goose, take the ones digit.

Clue #4
Somewhere over... this emporium of treats the sun rises and if you catch the reflection just right off the solar panels it'll bounce back to you like a prism. Taste the... east of the Castro. Find the sign that tells you all about this shop's energy and count the red boxes underneath. This number will be the answer to your 4th clue.

Final Clue
To get to your final stop on this journey you have some options beside walk, bike or ride. Do a little research to find the fleet lot of the car-share company that bends over backwards to offer us carless working stiffs a hybrid vehicle option. You've got your numbers, now go to the parking spot of the hybrid with the vehicle location number that matches your answers from the previous clues (as you found them chronologically). You made it to the finish line!

One last step to completion: Now that you’re at the hybrid parking spot, all you need is a sign. Look up in the sky, to the West, see any signs with a renewable power source?
