Tumbling into Light - A Multimedia, Multidisciplinary, Concert Event January 31, 2010

The Flying Bulgars (3-time JUNO nominees) take their game to a whole new level by setting the music of David Buchbinder and Dave Wall in a multimedia performance extravaganza. They’ve invited choreographer Andrea Nann, filmmaker Bruce McDonald, designer Lorenzo Savoini and musical guests Richard Underhill and John Millard out to play; together they are creating a unique world that will take audiences on an emotional ride they won’t soon forget. Darkness, anger, confusion, tenderness, astringent humour sliding into celebration, eyes raised to the horizon, hope, and finally, tumbling head over heels into new illumination.

The Flying Bulgars sixth CD, which will serve as the soundtrack for Tumbling Into Light and which shares the same name as the performance, was officially released November 10. The album was recorded over the past several years and includes all brand-new material produced by one of Canada’s most acclaimed producers, Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Apostle of Hustle, Mean Red Spiders, Los Campensinos).
