Tuesday Night at the Opera Talk: Flight April 19, 2005

Boston Lyric Opera's Education and Community Programs Manager, Lucas Dennis, will discuss the upcoming East Coast premiere of Jonathan Dove's opera, Flight. Flight is a comic opera based upon a true story--a refugee who lived in the Charles de Gaulle airport for eleven years. The opera was premiered at Glyndebourne in 1998 and has been touring Europe and now the United States with acclaim from both audiences and music critics. Mr. Dennis will discuss the origins of the opera, the plot and musical devices. His talk will be accompanied by a live performance of some of the arias.
