Portland's own memoir and music series, True Stories is finally returning to our old (but also new) stomping grounds on Sunday, April 19 at the gorgeous new Mississippi Studios. (Now, with booze! Huzzah!!!). Here's the lineup:

Chelsea Cain – New York Times Bestselling author of Heartsick, Sweetheart and the upcoming Evil at Heart, and New York Times Book Review contributor.

Marc Acito – New York Times contributor, irregular NPR commentator, Oregon Book Award winner and author of How I Paid for College; a Novel of Sex, Theft, Friendship and Musical Theater and Attack of the Theater People

Courtenay Hameister – head writer and host(ess) of Live Wire Radio, OPB commentator, freelance writer and recent contributor to the anthology, What Was I Thinking?: 58 Bad Boyfriend Stories.

Scott Poole - poet and author of Hiding from Salesman, former director of Wordstock, Portland's Festival of the Book
....and singer/songwriter:

Jim Brunberg – accomplished songwriter and musician (toured with artists from Greg Brown to Willie Nelson), record producer, writer and creator of Mississippi Studios.

PLUS! VERY SPECIAL GUESTS...:

Karen Karbo—the author of Motherhood Made a Man Out of Me; The Stuff of Life, a memoir about caring for her father during the last year of his life; and the Minerva Clark trilogy, a fun and funky YA series about a 7th grade girl detective. Her next book is The Gospel According to Coco Chanel: Life Lessons from the World's Most Elegant Woman.

Storm Large—currently starring in her own one-woman show at Portland Center Stage, "Crazy Enough," Storm will perform a new piece not included in the show.

Adrian Chen— a comedy writer and contributor to the Onion News Network whose writing has appeared in Willamette Week, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, and on the OPB show Live Wire! His website/videoblog is Worldoftoday.org. Adrian is moving to New York in May, so this will probably be Portlanders' last chance to see him before he goes!!
