The Town Council in Trowbridge have combined Veterans Day Celebrations this year with their annual Community Spotlight event. Running concurrently on the 28 and 29 June there is an abundance of activities for the community to participate in and a great deal of work has been put into the organisation of the event.

In the weeks leading up to the event there will be competition to win a lap top and mountain bike in the local paper by answering questions on conflict. In the week prior to the event school children will participate in activities at the local Museum and talk to veterans from a variety of conflicts and see displays.

In the Town Park local residents will be treated to displays from Marching Bands, Sky Divers, Military Vehicles and Re-enactors. They will be able to compete against service men and women on Assault Courses, Bleep Tests, Climbing Towers and will children will have the opportunity to take part in a drill display. Careers Displays, Support Services, Display Teams, Foreign Markets and Fairground rides will also provide a weekend of activities from 10am till 10pm on Saturday and 10am till 4pm on Sunday. The event will stop after the Drum Head Service on Sunday and the Celebrations will culminate in a Veterans Dinner night on the 4 July for 200 Services Veterans.
