Support is from emerging Hackney based piano/electronics artist Keir Vine who first worked with Dark while studying music at Goldsmiths college and is now recording an album with new-wave indie band Gold Future Joy Machine, and building a successful career in film composition.

This set captures a passage of musical travel - from Goldsmiths students to emerging graduate Vine, linked together by the established musician and collaborator Dark.

20:30 – 22:00 SPEECH DEBELLE + DELS

The Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall

South London MC Speech Debelle is the recent signing to Big Dada records. Her debut “Speech Therapy” was released in June this year and features collaborations from Roots Manuva, Michachu, and Tunng’s Mike Lindsay. The recording is a hip hop album like no other because of Speech’s open-book honesty about life at 25, the fragility she implies into her vocal style and the fact that her band is a standard acoustic trio of bass, drums and guitar.

Dels is an emerging MC who last year released a single on Moshi Moshi (Bloc Party, Late of the Pier) and is gearing up to release 'Shape/Shift' this summer. His new album is a collaboration project with Joe Goddard from Hot Chip which features production by Kwes, Sampha and Drums of Death.

22:30 – 01:00 SOWETO KINCH + DJ + VISUALS

Concrete at Hayward Gallery

Soweto Kinch has won a Mercury prize, two Mobo awards and countless urban music and BBC jazz prizes across his career to date, which spans two albums. The latter A life in the Day of B19 is a concept-album which was in part Kinch’s personal observations of life living at the top of a council high-rise in Birmingham.

The music pioneers a new relationship between hip-hop and jazz, channelled through Kinch’s staggering command of rap, saxophones, and effects pedals.

This show will be set to a backdrop of visuals and guest DJ’s will play through until 01.00.
