The Canadian Centennial Choir and music director Marg Stubington are proud to present “Triumph of the Spirit”. Two beloved Canadian composers have been selected for this concert, Srul Irving Glick and Imant Raminsh. Glick’s Triumph of the Spirit was composed as a direct result of the personal introspection and reflection following a surprising turn in his life. Glick had survived as the victim of an unexpected shooting. The resulting material is not only beautiful, but inspirational as it reflects life’s adversities coupled with life’s successes. Upon hearing this beautiful five-movement work, Marg was not only drawn into the music, but she also really wanted to have an opportunity to conduct it. Imant Raminsh’s I Will Sing unto the Spirit will feature members of the Ottawa Children's Choir. Both compositions reflect Glick’s words “the inner joy of recovering from adversity, celebrating the gifts of God and acknowledging the trriumph of the spirit.”
This performance will also include Gabriel Faure’s sublime Requiem, accompanied by orchestra. We are also pleased to feature Kathleen Radke, soprano, Jean-Sebastien Kennedy, baritone and the Ottawa Children’s Choir.

Tickets are $22 and $18 in advance, $25 and $20 at the door and are on sale at Leading Note (Elgin), Herb & Spice (Wellington) and Compact Music (Bank). For more information visit the Choir's website at www.ccc-ccc.ca.
