Six former extremists who have renounced violence and are working together to promote a sense of community and youth education will participate in a special Tribeca Talks event called “Youth Radicalization Redefined” as part of the Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) on Friday, April 29 at 5:30 PM at SVA Theater 2, located at 333 W 23rd Street, Manhattan.

With 60% of the world under age 30 and a majority of those “at risk” either socially, economically or both, there is an oversupply of young people susceptible to recruitment by extremist, religious or ideological groups. Presented by TFF, Google Ideas and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the conversation aims to provide a forum for high school students and their parents to identify signs of recruitment and the subsequent dangers of radicalization.

The conversation will be moderated by Jared Cohen, director of Google Ideas and a CFR fellow.

The event is free and open to the public.
