Chicago, IL— May is the official beginning of ‘kitten season’ when Tree House Humane Society – Chicagoland’s premier shelter specializing in the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, abused and neglected stray cats – starts getting inundated with requests to help the many kittens born to stray and feral mothers who desperately need help.

The annual Kitten Shower helps Tree House gather resources to help care for the thousands of kittens born outside in Chicagoland each year, and is essential to get through the busy late-Spring to late-Fall kitten season. Perhaps more importantly, it gives attendees a chance to ooh and ahh over adorable kitten faces and their funny antics, while enjoying tours of the Tree House Humane Society’s beautiful Bucktown Branch shelter (and enjoy the unique enclosed sun porch). Of course no shower would be complete without games, refreshments and a formal gift opening.

Lastly, although there is no pressure to adopt, many won’t be able to resist the charms of the little felines. To be sure prospective adopters are prepared, Steve Dale, Pet Journalist, Certified Animal Behaviorist, and Saturday morning contributor for Chicago’s WGN Radio, will answer questions on feline health, training and behavior. He’ll also be promoting his new eBook Good Cat which is a great resource for both novice and seasoned kitten and cat parents.
