59 Barber St
Torrington, Connecticut 06790

Jazz pianist and Hartford-area native Adrian Untermyer returns to the region for an exclusive two-night engagement at Studio 59, a performance gallery within a lovingly-restored 19th-century church in the heart of historic Torrington, Connecticut. Untermyer will engage in a musical conversation with noted Classical pianist, organist and composer Timothy Alexandre Wallace, utilizing both a Steinway Concert Grand and a vintage Fender Rhodes Electric Piano to explore the roots and blur the boundaries between two of music’s feistiest genres.
Born outside Chicago and raised in northern Connecticut, pianist Adrian Untermyer graduated from the prestigious Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts in Hartford, CT where he studied with internationally renowned saxophonist Jimmy Greene. Untermyer has performed on stages large and small throughout the Northeast, including a 2008 appearance at the Library of Congress in Washington DC for Jazz icon Dave Brubeck. He also works extensively as a sideman, arranger, musical director and bandleader, and has performed inEurope and Canada. Untermyer currently lives and plays in New York City, where he appears regularly at musical destinations including Limeleaf, Uncle Mike's, and the legendary Bitter End. Tickets are available at the door or by calling (860) 482-6801. Hors d’Oeuvres will be provided, and patrons are encouraged to bring their own wine or spirits.
