DJ Spooky that Subliminal Kid and featuring some of the world?s most electrifying musicians, writers, and video artists. Spooky spins while Colson Whitehead reads from Colossus New York, his recent nonfiction collection. London-born Nitin Sawhney performs an excerpt from his video Prophecy, an intriguing work of global fusion that melds music from 70 countries. Sri Lankan artist, actor, and writer Tanya Selvaratnam, who recently collaborated on the award-winning multimedia production Alladeen performs with DJ Rekha, founder of Basement Bhangra, the wildly successful night club parties that brought raw Punjabi folk beats infused with hip-hop to New York?s South Asian music scene. And Eclectic Method, the three-man VJ group, sets forth its unique brand of bootleg video remixes that take art-house visuals to another dimension. These artists and more re-draw the lines between music and video in this mixed media extravaganza.
