TQLA Mesa Opening! Tequila on Tap is coming to the Valley! September 17, 2012

Prepare to indulge your senses with a blend of Southwestern, Mexican and Southern cuisine when TQLA, the newest addition to Mesa’s culinary and mixology communities, opens Monday, September 17th.

Celebrating one of the fastest growing spirits in the world, TQLA which was voted one of the best Tequila Bars in USA Today, features a collection of tequilas on tap, hyper-cooled to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
After successfully establishing the first TQLA in Houston, TX and being named top 10 new restaurant, the concept is excited to make Mesa its first West Coast and Arizona location.

“Almost every restaurant serves tequila in the Valley, but only at TQLA in Mesa will we give you the chance to sample some of the rarest and finest tequila’s around and to try tequila on tap,” said owner Michael Nelson. “Come enjoy some of best food West of Santa Fe and the only Tequila you’ll find hyper-cooled to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.”
By combining the freshest ingredients with a fun and energetic atmosphere, TQLA presents the heritage and flavors of the Southwest, Coastal Mexican cooking as well as adding some Southern influences.

Signature dishes include crawfish and spinach enchiladas, table-side guacamole, pumpkin seed crusted salmon, and for dessert—the Cuatro Leches is not to be missed. TQLA will also be using locally sourced and organic products along with a wood fired grill to enhance the flavor profile of its food.

TQLA Partner Scott Lindsey, is one of approximately 40 people in the US holding the designation of certified Tequilier, the tequila world’s equivalent of a Sommelier and a title granted by the Academia Mexicana del Tequila, AC.

Lindsey has selected a tequila list all made of 100% blue agave representing blanco, reposado, anejo and extra anejo varieties, in addition to flavored and infused tequilas, soto and mescal. Four premium tequilas will be served on tap that are hyper-cooled to five degrees. Seasonal tequila infusions plus sangrias or specialty margaritas and palomas will compliment any TQLA entrée. Ongoing tequila education will also be offered through sampling seminars and tequila dinners.

TQLA’s name pays homage to one of the fastest growing spirits in the world. Tequilas and Mezcals can be enjoyed much like any fine wine or single malt Scotch. With complex flavors and undertones present, there is much more than meets the eye. The first TQLA location in Arizona will be located on the NW corner of Val Vista and Baseline in the Dana Park Shopping Center at 1840 S. Val Vista Drive in Mesa.
