The June 2007 meeting will be held this coming Tuesday (June 5th) at 7PM. The location is the Rogers Communications Centre (Room RCC 361) at the corner of Church and Gould.

This month, Ian Darwin will repeat a talk he gave at JavaOne this year.

The title of the talk is: Testing Java Code: Beyond the IDE.

Ian will examine several program verification tools - primarily PMD, FindBugs and Pathfinder - that perform additional testing beyond what javac and the IDEs do. Using a combination of static checking and dynamic model testing can increase the chances of finding bugs before they make it into production!

About the speaker:
Ian Darwin has worked with computers for ages, and with Java since 1995. He has written close to a hundred magazine articles, four books, numerous courses at various levels, and dozens of presentations.
He wrote one of the world's first commercial Java training courses and is the author of several books including O'Reilly's Java Cookbook and Checking Java Programs.
