TORONTO ELECTROACOUSTIC SYMPOSIUM
August 8 and 9, 2008

The Canadian Electroacoustic Community, the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto and New Adventures in Sound Art are pleased to announce the second annual Toronto Electroacoustic Symposium. The symposium will take place at the Faculty of Music, and St. Andrew by-the-Lake church and will lead directly into the main performance weekend of the annual Sound Travels festival on Toronto Island. Alongside a selection of refereed papers and presentations, the symposium will feature keynote lectures by Sound Travels' composers-in-residence Robert Normandeau and Ellen Waterman. A late-night event hosted by the angelusnovus.net group will provide a space for live electronic and improvised expressions in an "open-mic" format on the 8th. The proceedings of the symposium will be published in a forthcoming issue of the CEC's online journal, eContact!.
