Coastal Highway at West Way
Bethany Beach, Delaware 19930

Tickets are now on sale for the 10th annual Toll Brothers Taste of Coastal Delaware, on Sunday, June 7, 1 to 4 p.m. It was already southern Delaware's biggest and best tasting event, where guests can sample delicacies from the best restaurants at the beach along with beer and wine tastings and live music. The organizers, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, however, are adding a celebrity chef, a competition among the restaurants, and a new, but familiar location to this year’s culinary showcase.

Here’s what’s new about the 10th annual Toll Brothers Taste of Coastal Delaware:

New location. The Toll Brothers Taste of Coastal Delaware is returning to the Marketplace at Sea Colony in Bethany Beach, where it was held from 2001 through 2006. Chamber Executive Director Andrew Cripps feels the location on Coastal Highway will give the event more of a coastal feel, as well as greater visibility to reach more weekend visitors.

Special Guest Chef. Chef John Shields is a nationally acclaimed expert in regional American coastal cuisine. John has written three award-winning cookbooks and the star of two cooking series on public television: “Coastal Cuisine” and “Chesapeake Bay Cooking.” He is also chef/owner of Gertrude’s restaurant at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Chef Shields has agreed to make a presentation and, conditions permitting, a cooking demonstration at the Toll Brothers Taste of Coastal Delaware.

People’s Choice and Best Display competitions. “A little healthy competition is a good thing,” Cripps said, so the chamber will present a People’s Choice award for the best dish, based on voting by attendees, as well as an award for the most attractive table display. “I’m sure the ‘bragging rights’ that come with these awards will inspire our restaurants to bring out their best,” Cripps said.

Cripps says new restaurants have already agreed to participate, and long-time favorites are expected to return to the event this year. One thing that hasn’t changed is the ticket price for “A Taste of Coastal Delaware.” Tickets are still just $35 per person, and are available for purchase online at www.TheQuietResorts.com or at the Chamber of Commerce offices, 36913 Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island. They can also be purchased at the door.

Title Sponsor of the event is Toll Brothers, America’s Luxury Home Builder. Supporting Sponsors include Giant Foods, Delmarva Power, the Coastal Point, Delaware Today magazine and WMDT 47 and Delmarva’s CW 3.
