Explore the art of teatime during the Victorian era at this special program. Varina Davis, the First Lady of the Confederacy, and the ladies of the 19th century placed much importance in the tradition of tea as a way to practice grace and etiquette and to engage in social conversation. Topics covered will include the history of tea and typical foods consumed during teatime. Teapots from the Museum collection will be displayed and discussed and participants will also enjoy a private tour of the parlors of The White House of the Confederacy. An assortment of teas and light refreshments will be available.
