Come see Shakespeare’s most brutally violent play performed by a company of women, focusing starkly on the effect of violence on victims, perpetrators, and witnesses alike. Following the tradition of revenge tragedies that stretches from Seneca to contemporary films, a brave hero is ultimately pushed to the point of seeking just and bloody retribution. In a Rome rocked by war, torture, and political infighting, Titus Andronicus, a war hero and exemplar of Roman virtues, finds that these strengths offer no protection from the malevolent plots of others.
