Theater for the New City presents a special annual holiday edition of the staged reading of the hard-boiled Christmas fantasy 'Times Square Angel,' written by and starring Charles Busch, and directed by Carl Andress. 'Times Square Angel' is an affectionate homage to the holiday/fantasy films of the 1940s such as 'It's a Wonderful Life,' 'The Bishop's Wife,' and 'The Big Street.' Busch stars as Irish O'Flanagan, a tough-as-nails nightclub chanteuse in 1940s Manhattan who makes Scrooge look like a sentimental sap.
