Now signed to eternally cool indie label Matador, Columbus’s swiftly rising DIY rock trio Times New Viking celebrate the release of a new album, Rip It Off, supported by three great groups of their friends.

Expect more of Times New Viking’s wickedly bent melodies and deliciously dirty buzz to underscore “Teen Drama,” “The Early 80s,” the feisty intralabel throwdown track “Times New Viking vs. Yo La Tengo,” and other tunes the lo-fi pop deconstructivists unveil from their new release. More Matador shenanigans are on display with the guitar-driven neo-garage sound of the Ponys from Chicago and the rhythmic rumble of Endless Boogie, the label’s front office all stars (both of them). Columbus pals the Feelers get it all going and then some.
