Reaves focuses on discovering contemporary artists. In contrast, Lost Art Salon focuses on re-discovering artists from the past. The two have come together to co-curate, "Timeless", which merges modernist, vintage and antique art with their contemporary counterparts. The show will be hosted at Reaves Gallery in Hayes Valley. The intention of the show is to both present a progression of styles and mediums from the early 1900s through the present day, and to show the ways in which artists continue to draw references and inspiration from the past. An example of a pairing will include Mid-Century Bay Area Figurative work by Alysanne McGaffey contrasted with contemporary figurative paintings by Fernando Reyes.

Artists will include Alysanne McGaffey, Fernando Reyes, Richard Van Wingerden, Annie Galvin, Maggy Aldrich, Jerome, Victor Vaserely, Phillip Dvorak, Clyde I. Seavey, Kristen Tradowsky, Richard Karwoski, Pete Doolittle, Harriet Roudebush, David Imlay, Ross Curtis and others.

The exhibition runs from August 7th - September 7th, 2008.

Free and open to the public.
