In this course, we will consider some philosophical aspects of Bergsons theory of time and memory and then relate these ideas to the monumental novel by Marcel Proust: 'In Search of Lost Time'. Bergson relates the internal structure of consciousness to the problem of holding temporal events in relationship to each other; memory is the glue between events: If everything is in time, everything changes inwardly, and the same concrete reality never recurs.only memory allows for the comforting illusion of Repetition.
