Tim O'Brien has been an important factor in bluegrass and folk-grass fusion for more than 20 years. He was a founding member of Hot Rize, one of the leading '80s bluegrass bands, as well as Red Knuckles & the Trailblazers. He has made several recordings solo and as a duet with his sister, Mollie. He plays guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki and mandocello.
