TiE Pune Event: What Investors look for in Business Plans February 14, 2009

Ever wondered if it is a good time to go for funding in your company?
If yes, ever wondered if you should go for debt funding or raise
capital through diluting equity?

TiE Pune chapter continues to organize events which help Entrepreneurs
build better business. This time we bring you a seminar which helps
you understand more about financing the business. The seminar will be
led by Mr. Shantanu Bhagwat who is a Charter Member of TiE UK chapter.
He is a Computer Engineer by training and an investor by profession.

Shantanu will take up actual business plans explain what it is that an
investor looks for in such plans. He will explain what excites an
investor about a particular project. What features in a proposal put
it in a poor light? How can you make a presentation that can excite a
funding house?

This exercise will help entrepreneurs learn the lacunas in their
business plans. It will help them understand how to fill the gaps
based on the authentic inputs from people who review the plans and
make investment decisions on a daily basis.

Shantanu has been with Amadeus Capital, is on the advisory board of
Asia Silicon Valley Connection and is the founder of India Venture
Capital Group in London. He has been a mentor for several start ups.
He will also offer insights into how mentors can add value to a young
company. Entrepreneurs can also learn how best to extract value from
the mentors.
