The Beatings (headliners) deliver great post-punk rock, packaged in smart lyrics and addictive grooves. The three co-lead vocalists skate and sometimes chisel catchy melodies over machine-gun bass/snare hits and quirky hi-hat swings, while the band’s signature wall-of guitars sound tie everything together. On record, The Beatings are aurally and intellectually satisfying, and on stage, they are explosive. Based in Boston, The Beatings have toured extensively, gaining critical acclaim in magazines and newspapers across the US & Europe. Magnet calls the band "flawless", Boston Globe praises their “near-perfect payoffs of post-punk muscle and melody”, and The Village Voice adds "these guys and girl fucking rock”. They are currently performing in support of last Fall’s release Late Season Kids. More at www.thebeatings.com.

Aloud are known for the dual-vocal attack of crooner Henry Beguiristain and powerhouse singer Jen de la Osa. The two have been writing songs together since their teen years, and the result is Aloud’s excellently executed brand of rock n’ roll, complete with lush vocal harmonies, contagious melodies, and dazzling guitar lines. The release of Aloud’s latest CD Fan The Fury, and consequent touring, has brought the band much-deserved praise. Northeast Performer writes, Aloud has “…unmistakable rock and roll stage presence… bona fide star power.” Flagpole praises Jen’s “exceptional pipes”, and Philadelphia Weekly commends the band for “uniting chamber pop with rock anthems." After officially dropping their long-time rhythm section partners in favor of new blood, rumors of a new Aloud album are rampant (perhaps a Fall release?). More at www.allthingsALOUD.com

Action Camp is Pittsburgh's premiere dynamic dream-pop duo, formerly of Boston. Originally formed in 2006 after a chance meeting of a classically trained, folk-rooted girl (Maura Jacob) and an electro-minded punk boy (Bengt Alexsander), Action Camp is an ever-evolving entity. A shared love of 50's doo-wop, dark pop music, and David Lynch movies is the glue that binds them and also the basis for their eclectic sound. The pair has a flare for the dramatic, performing on live and electronic instruments, and inviting audience participation in their intimate concerts. The Noise describes the band as “female vocals waft like ground fog above an ancient forest floor [and] a bizarre sense of darker monster surf music slithers in the eardrums”. Hello Ninja (opening) are making rock and roll for the next generation. Warning: on stage, this Boston-based, soul-rock band is a little crazy, using wasted beer and broken drum sets as their weapons of choice. Hello Ninja lists The Who and The White Stripes as influences, but tinges of 1977 rock and a ballsy, country swagger are also evident. Their new single “I Think of Me Too” features the debut of new bassist Tim Thomson and continues the band’s collection of double A sides known as “The Singles Club”. Foundwaves.com says “If the 50s and 80s got together to throw a house party, Hello Ninja would surely get an invite to play. And they would do it in the garage, of course…on a trampoline.” More at www.myspace.com/helloninjaband
