Bad At Sports BASECAMP
Chicago Artist's Month
Residency: October 17 - November 25, 2006
Month-long event series at www.three-walls.org

CHICAGO, IL - After a year of bringing their funny, insightful and saucy podcast into an iPod near you, roaming Chicago art podcasters Bad At Sports will set up a live and interactive BaseCamp at ThreeWalls, artist residency and exhibition space, between October 17th and November 25th for Chicago Artist’s Month.

As a part of the ThreeWalls new annual BaseCamp program, Bad At Sports will be the first “site-less” collaborative to commandeer the residency space for their operations. Bad At Sports will host a series of public programs aimed at getting Chicago talking – about Chicago Art.

During their BaseCamp residency, Bad At Sports will open the ThreeWalls door for a series of special public programs including live interviews/podcast recordings with Kerry James Marshall, Rhona Hoffman and Franceso Bonami; an Arts Media Tea Party with Chicago’s arts bloggers and zine writers; two Bad At Sports moderated SALONs, “What the heck do you mean Chicago art?” and “Where in the [Art] World is Chicago?"; and inspired by “One Book, One Chicago,” Bad At Sports literary correspondent, Terry Griffith, will invite readers to join in a Bad At Sports Book Club, with a roundtable discussion about the renewed relevancy of Oscar Wilde’s timeless tale of art and morality, “The Picture of Dorian Grey.”

Bad At Sports is Duncan MacKenzie, Richard Holland, Amanda Browder, Terri Griffith and Kathryn Born joined by a host of out-of-town correspondents and advisors. Their popular podcast is a mix of outrageous Stern-style talk radio, reality programming and college radio, with some artists and thoughtful critique thrown in for good measure. On August 27, 2006, Bad At Sports celebrated their first birthday with their 52nd podcast, a series of their funniest and foulest out-takes: art-talk you’ve never heard at the museum. Providing everyone in Chicago with their 15-minutes of shame, Bad At Sports can be found at www.badatsports.com.
