ThreeWalls announces:

"OVERview"
New work by Jaime Snyder

OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, January 27, 6:00-9:00 PM
ON VIEW: January 27, 2006 - February 25, 2006

CHICAGO, IL - Using light and patterns, Jaime Snyder?s collections of cut paper drawings accentuate the topology of interior architecture, gathering in corners, crevices, along edges and surfaces. Working with different spaces, ranging from abandoned buildings to art studios, Snyder?s drawings draw out a similarity between the artificial mark and the accumulations made by nature, her lattice-like drawings and collections of particles arranged in webbed configurations or clouds of condensation. With the inclusion of ultraviolet light in combination with standard incandescent bulbs and daylight, Snyder takes advantage of the eye?s natural response to changing light level, transforming these installations into undulating visual stimulus that morphs understated mark-making into spectacle.

Jaime Snyder is a visual artist, digital media and studio art teacher and information architect based in Brooklyn, NY and Portland, Maine. For the last ten years her work on all fronts has brought together concepts of visual thinking and information design. She has exhibited and completed artist residencies in the US and abroad. She received an MFA from Stanford University in 1997. Snyder used to her residency at ThreeWalls to complete a new installation, on view from January 27th until February 25th, 2006.
