Pianist Catherine Klipfel, violinist Stefan Hempel, and cellist Emanuel Wehse are the Morgenstern Trio, named after the popular 19th century German poet Christian Morgenstern.
Their debut live CD was released in 2008 and featured works by Beethoven and Brahms. Their “sheer unbelievable virtuosity” stunned audiences and critics alike .

The three former students of the Folkwang Conservatory in Essen, Germany, have won several international prizes, including the First Prize at the International Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna in 2007; followed by two second prizes at the Fifth Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and the prestigious ARD Competition in Munich as well as their audience award.
Most recently they received the most prestigious piano trio prize in the U.S., the Kalichstein–Laredo-Robinson Trio Award in 2010.
Germany's national program for young musicians and the Best of NRW Concert Series have provided the Morgenstern Trio a noticeable platform with numerous concerts across Germany and live radio appearances to showcase their already consummate musicianship.

The program includes

Maurice Ravel: Piano Trio a-minor
Leonard Bernstein: Piano Trio
Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio in C-Minor

The concert is presented in collaboration with the German Consulate General.
We thank Kasimoff Bluethner for their support.
