Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who comes to New York City to marry for money instead of love - a thoroughly modern aim in 1922!

Millie soon begins to take delight in the 'flapper' lifestyle but problems arise when she checks into the Hotel Priscilla for Women, owned by the mysterious and sinister Mrs Meers who just happens to control a Chinese white slavery ring! To make matters worse, Millie's plans to marry her wealthy boss at the Sincere Trust Insurance Company, soon go awry as she finds herself taken with a poor paper clip salesman.

Will Millie marry for money or for love? Or will she find herself whisked away to the mysterious East?!
