In his 14 years of being Boston-based, dancer / choreographer Daniel McCusker has connected with quite a number of kindred spirits within the dance community. Those connections hail from all artistic disciplines, but do share a common ground in their desire to communicate ideas and emotions through dance or dance-like media. McCuskers first tHisTHat presentation pays tribute to this vibrant community of artists by providing a showcase for a few of the many who deserve special focus.

McCusker hopes that these performances will encourage dialogue between viewers, between artists and audiences, and between new and established artists. He is interested in dance and the possibilities it reveals. These performances are an opportunity for him to contribute to keeping those possibilities alive in the community he calls home. If all goes well, there will be more tHisTHat tributes to come.

tHisTHat Show No. 1 will feature the work of Caitlin Corbett, Brian Crabtree, Rick Fox, Ana Keilson, Kate Nies, and Melody Ruffin Ward. McCusker has personal and professional connections to all of these artists. Though each work is individual, they all share a common concern for structure combined with the intuitive. Each artist trusts his/her material.
