Talya Epstein's current work, "This is not a lovetraingle," is an exploration of how and what of ourselves we expose, share, and withhold from the world at large. The trio of performers are forced to exist in extremes of exposure and complacency thus creating an atmosphere of disconnected-togetherness. With attention to eyes, hands, and faces, the movement is minimal and based in gesture. Ms. Epstein has created both the sound score and the set. The work will be performed by Darren Devaney, Shelley Franklin and Maya Smith.

Talya Epstein’s work has been performed through World Music/CRASHarts’ “Ten’s the Limit” at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, as well as in The Dance Complex’s Shared Choreographers’ Concert in Cambridge, MA. She was also chosen to participate in The New England Foundation for the Arts’ Regional Dance Development Initiative held at Connecticut College. She has studied with and been inspired by Jennifer Scanlon, Miguel Gutierrez, Olivier Besson and Katie Duck. Talya will be graduating from The Boston Conservatory in May 2008 with a BFA in modern dance.

The performance will take place on April 18 at 8pm and April 19 at 3pm & 8pm. The performance is free, but seating is limited. For reservations call 617-694-2385.
