Third Bengalooru International Film Festival - 2009 January 2, 2009

The third edition of Bengalooru International Film Festival is organized by Suchitra Film Society, a premier institution of Bengalooru. The festival, which is now an important annual film event, showcases outstanding films of the world cinema, along with several packages of films which include country focus on Italy and China.

The programme also includes a retrospective of well known filmmaker Kim Ki Duk, films from South Korea in association with INKO centre Chennai, and a retrospective of Dan Wolman, a noted filmmaker from Israel.

It is also likely that the festival will have a retrospective of the films of Alain Resnais, the renowned French filmmaker.

There will be two more sections, one showcasing the Indian Regional cinema and award winning Documentary films from different countries.

In the tribute section the festival is planning to have films of Kon Ichikawa of Japan, and Youssef Chahine of Egypt.
