The American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary (AmCham) together with Salva Vita Foundation cordially invite you to its Thirds Annual Conference on Diversity.

Topic: Employment of people with disabilities

Introduction

In Hungary, the number of people living with compromised ability to work, including people with disabilities is approximately 650,000. While in the European Union the employment rate of this group is 30-40 percent, in Hungary it is only estimated at 9-13 percent. It is in the essential interest of companies to open up towards this population as they represent a workforce yet unused. Their performance and their ability to create value reaches far beyond the cost of possible conversions necessary for their entry into employment. The exclusion of people with disabilities from the labor market is strategically detrimental. The cost of their social welfare falls on the society, which results, on the long run, in tax increase that will eventually affect the profitability and competitiveness of companies.

In accordance with the goals of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation our event brings into focus the employment of people with disabilities and presents innovative accomplishments that may give inspiration to all participants.
