ReVisions: New Creations from SCRAP; a look at the art of creative reuse was juried by SFAC Gallery Director, Meg Shiffler, the SF Chronicle's online "Art and Culture Fix" columnist and SFAI faculty, JD Beltran, and the African American Art and Culture Complex Visual Arts Coordinator, Samara Rivers. The show features 67 artworks from 46 artists, including emiko Oye, Chris Chalmers, Julie Kornblum, Michael Kerbow, Judith Selby & Richard Lang, and Aiko Lanier Cuneo. Works include interactive installation, sculpture, weaving, painting, photography, assemblage, and jewelry.

There are TWO venues for the show this year; the reMake Lounge & GreenZebra Environmental Action Center at 50 Post St (in Crocker Galleria, entrance on Sutter); and the SF Environment EcoCenter at 11 Grove St (across from SF Main Library). An opening reception will be held Friday, Dec 11 at reMake Lounge, 6-8pm, and a second reception will be held at the EcoCenter Thursday, Jan 14, 2010, 5:30-7:30pm.

About SF Environment EcoCenter
The EcoCenter at 11 Grove St. provides resources, education, and support for the San Francisco public to take an active role in protecting and enhancing their urban environment.

About reMake Lounge
The remake Lounge is a community DIY and creative reuse space whose mission is to inspire the maker spirit, foster community, and keep materials out of the landfill. It operates as a venue for handmade, repurposed, upcycled creations, and an event/meeting space.

About Green Zebra
GreenZebra benefits schools and non-profits interested in building community and preserving the environment. Each year the GreenZebra guide helps direct people to the many environmentally friendly options in the Bay Area. GreenZebra also hosts the Environmental Action Center.
