This new musical, adapted from the novel by Horace McCoy and the 1969 classic film, is set in Venice, California, during a depression-era dance marathon and evokes an odd symbiosis between the dance of desperation during the depression and our time of reality television where people will do anything for money or a brief glimpse at fame.
