Who is Theophilus London? A maverick MC, left-field artist, and performer with a mesmerizing presence. Backed by the genius production of Machinedrum (NormRex), Theo is a connector -- he moves effortlessly through the eclectic NYC music community, equally comfortable rolling with Passion Pit and Mickey Factz as with Ninjasonik.

His musical taste follow in the footsteps of electro-hip-hoppers like the Cool Kids, Hollywood Holt, and Pacific Division... but he leaves them behind when detouring into soul and new wave.

His recent single with up-n-coming R&B wonder Jesse Boykins III, Cold Pillow, has been firing up the blogosphere. But it is his live performance that delivers the knock-out. We first saw Theophilus (and, yes, this is his government name) perform live at an Obama benefit in Greenpoint. Backed by a full band, packing musical heat and a decent flair for dramatics, Theo recruited our fandom instantly.
