Former My Dear Disco guitarist (and Everyday Cook cashier) Theo Katzman has been breaking out as a singer-songwriter over the past year, with appearances as far away as Wisconsin. Theo told the FORMzine website that "I like to call my music Indie Soul or something like it has a soul element to it. ... It's important to me that the groove is really strong, and interesting and kind of unique and that the arrangements are cool and intriguing." And indeed there's a lot of the rhythmic energy of Donny Hathaway in his music, plus rock, folk, and more.
