The Babylonian Talmud is known as the reservoir of Hebrew law. It is less well known that the Talmud is also a source of the dramatic stories and legends of our Sages. Acquaintance with these legends spreads out before us a colorful gallery of heroic figures, drama and suspense, which mold their spiritual world and give us entry into the "Theater of the Talmud" which has never before been on display.

We will focus on the suspense and drama, between:

* Torment & Love in the story of Rabbi Akiva
* Passion & Loyalty in the stories of Rav Chiya Bar Ashi and his wife and Rish Lekish
* Leadership & Doubt in the death of Rav Yohanan Ben Zakkai
* Life & Death in spiritual legacies
