The second Tuesday of each month, social changemakers and web innovators get together to network, socialize and share ideas at Net Tuesday, a free event produced by NetSquared, http://www.netsquared.org a project of TechSoup, http://www.techsoup.org.
This month’s presentation will be about The YouTube Nonprofit Program http://www.youtube.com/nonprofits. Maryrose Dunton, the Head of User Experience at YouTube, will present.
During the 2007 Clinton Global Initiative, YouTube announced The YouTube Nonprofit Program as a way to make it even easier for people to find, watch and engage with nonprofit video content on the site. YouTube’s 2007/2008 Clinton Global Initiative commitment enables US-based nonprofit organizations with 501©(3) status, that register for the program, to receive a free nonprofit specific YouTube channel where they can upload footage of their work, public service announcements, calls to action and more. The channel also allows them to collect donations with no processing costs using Google Checkout for Nonprofits. YouTube’s global platform enables nonprofits to deliver their message, showcase their impact and needs, and encourage supporters to take action.
