The Virginia Holocaust Museum will commemorate its Yom HaShoah program on Sunday, April 11. The annual program focuses on the remembrance of the millions of Holocaust victims and the Jewish heroes.

Beginning at 2 p.m., the program includes a candle lighting ceremony by the Virginia Holocaust Survivors and prayers said in memory of the dead.

The Tolerance and Holocaust Visual Arts Competition winning entries will also be announced. The theme, “The Power of Persuasion,” focused on understanding history in order to guide students to make better decisions and avoid the dangers of prejudice, peer pressure and indifference.

The Yom HaShaoh program is sponsored by the Joint Holocaust Education Committee of the VHM and the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond.
